The tipping issue in America

Okay, this is going to be for once a pretty short post and to the point

For the past couple of weeks I've been reading several 'articles' from Yahoo about tipping

First of all, let me set straight my opinion about tipping

It's not fucking mandatory

Is it??

I honestly have no idea, but if tipping is mandatory in the U.S. Then we really have to take a step back and realize we are in a fucking crisis for God's sake and should not be inventing excuses to give money away.

Although, I've never worked as a waitress, I have several friends who have and from their testimonies, it is a hard job.

But so what? You think I like dealing with smart-ass 10 year-olds all the time, or having to deal with angry parents who need to discipline their kids once in a while?

No, we all work our asses off just to make it through college. That's life.

But I never get a tip for any of it. I simply collect my check every two weeks. Waiters and waitresses do the same thing. They collect their money for what they worked for. It's not like they work for free and their only income is the tips they collect.

I mean, if you are a rich dude who wants to give a 20 dollar tip for a 30 dollar meal, then by all mean go for it. But America, you have to stop trying to make everyone feel like they have to leave a tip everytime they go out.

Tips are fucking retardation at its best. And the people who are always whining about it need to get it through their thick heads of theirs that we all work just as hard as them and rarely anyone in any other industry recieve any tips for their labor. So why in the hell should you feel entitled to always get a tip, huh?

And with that I'm going to make myself some food and make sure I tip myself really well because I'm an awesome waitress for myself ;)

Hyuna is just ughh -_-

I hate Hyuna.

Ok, maybe hating is kind of a strong word, but I really, really dislike her.

I think she is one of the only celebrities I really don't like. Hyuna fans are always saying that if someone hates her, it's because we are jealous, and because she is sexy and hangs out with an idol we like.

First of all if that was true we would hate almost all women celebrities, because for the most part they are way better looking than the average girl.

I don't hate sexy singers or celebrities because I'm afraid they are going to steal my imaginary boyfriend. In fact some of my all time favorite Korean celebrities are on the sexy side: Hyori, Hwang Bo, Gain. But I also like cute girls: Suzy, Hyosung, Lizzy, IU. But I can't stand Hyuna. Mainly, but not exclusively, because she has one of the most annoying personalities ever.

There are too many things I dislike about Hyuna for me to list, but I'll try to put some in perspective here.

First: Her split celebrity personality
If you want to be sexy, then be sexy. If you want to act cute then by all mean do so
But why does she have to act so different on stage and in real life. I just don't understand how her personality can be so opposite from each other. I think we can see this split personality disorder she has on her BubblePop music video. First she shakes her ass while her buttceeks are eating her shorts, and rubs herself against a guy's junk...

And then tries to act all cute while she purses her lips and says things like **Miaow** (please let me go throw up)

Second: Her Whiny voice
I can't stand the sound of her voice. Even thinking about it makes me mad! It's like someone scratching a blackboard. It makes me want to beat someone up. It's seriously the most irritable voice I've ever heard. The worst part is that she probably thinks it's cute so she fakes that stupid-ass voice all the time.

(I wanted to find another video of her just talking but I'm too lazy to
spend my time for something that will just annoy me)

Why does she have to talk like that? Makes my ears bleed everytime I hear her talk

Third: Her no-chin face
No words needed here.............
No words needed....
No words.....

Fourth: The other members don't get a chance to promote
If I was one of her members I would hate her guts because the only reason she is getting chosen to do solos is because she open her legs up for the guys to fap.People even call her group Hyuna and her back-up dancers. I'm not a 4minute fan but, I feel bad for the other girls in the group.

Fifth: Her fans
I'm sick and tired to hear her fans moaning and bitching about how her agency is trying to sex her up. And that her sexyness is not really coming from her but from her evil managers.

Just accept that she is a whore who has put that sexy image on herself since day one. Even from when she was still a part of the Wonder Girls, she was putting forward the sexy image with her butt dance. Back then, the Wonder Girls didn't have a sexy image, so you can't say she tried to make herself be sexy for the sake of the concept given by higher ups.

(While she was in the Wonder Girls)

(During the promotions of Irony with the WG)

Sixth: Her lack of talent
She can't sing. She can't even rap. She demonstrated she can't dance (And no, spreading your legs apart and opening your mouth does not mean you can dance!!), go watch her dreadful dancing in dancing with the stars. She is not funny. She doesn't write music. She can't act, and to make it short she doesn't have anything that makes her special or likable. The only thing she has going on for her is that she doesn't lose the opportunity to stick her butt up or spread her legs apart so guys can do what they do best.

What the hell happened to Strong heart?!!

(The two happy kids)

Okay, I had to make this post.

I stopped watching Strong Heart for awhile mainly because I was too busy with school, work, drama, family, friends and (add more boring stuff right here)

So since I've been having a somehow more relaxing life lately, I went back to watch some Strong Heart episodes.

But, what do I find instead?

Two soul-less crappy excuses for MCs have stationed themselves in the places where Ho-Dong and Seung-Gi used to stand.

(When I watch SH now, I cringe half the time because these two)

I knew both MCs had been replaced after the scandal with Kang Ho-Dong. And I also heard who they were going to be replaced with but I thought with the help of the original script-writers, the show itself wasn't going to suffer.

But, boy was I wrong.

The show is a much bleaker, awkward and sad shadow of what it used to be.

And I put all the blame on both MCs for this.

The reason for me blaming all of this on them, it's that the rest of the cast is pretty much the same, the old scriptwriters of the show are the same ones, the show has the same concept, the guest are in the same categories as the ones they invited before. But the show suck ass now, whereas before it used to make me laugh until I had tears in my eyes.

I'm actually quite appalled at how bad the MCs are.

I don't understand it though. Okay, Dong Wook is new to this whole MC thing, but Dong-Yeop is anything but new to it. He did a good job at EHB a couple of years ago, and he is recognized in the industry as one of the top MCs there are.

So why is he so bad here??

Many of his side-comments to the guests or to other cast members seem mean and out of place. Other people can make those kind of comments without sounding genuinely mean and hateful, and at the same time give out a good laugh to the public. But Dong Wook doesn't seem able to do this (At least not on SH)

As to DongWook, well let's just say that as an MC he is a good dancer~~~(Meaning he SUCKS, in case you don't get it)

(This is the funniest thing Dong Wook has done as an MC as
of today. And it wasn't even that funny!)

He is such a sad excuse for an MC here I can't even feel pity for the poor guy.

And I don't care that this is his first time as an MC, if he accepted the position then he should have practiced for it until he was good enough instead of just accepting the offer and not adding anything to the show.

I'm not even an anti of  Lee Dong-Wook. Like I mentioned before I enjoyed LDW's acting and I've watched my girl with and I enjoyed a lot. But as an MC he really should have thought about it twice before accepting the position. Even though he is new to it he should know how to play along to seem more natural at it.

I mean, Seun-gi was new to it too and he acted like a pro from day one. In other words, if he (DW) didn't feel like he was prepared for it, why accept this position?

(Such a cutie :) I don't really like most of his dramas,
but he was an exceptional MC)

The dynamics of SG/HD and the rest of the cast members was so fun to watch. It was like they all knew each other really well and took advantage of this to make the show funnier.

On the other hand, Dong-Wook and Dong-Yeop are so awkward with the rest of the cast members that is almost as if none of them knew each other outside the show. But I highly doubt none of them know each other, given that a lot of them have been in the industry for a while and the SK entertainment industry is not that huge.

Dong-Yeop has more experience so at least he talks during the show, but Dong-Wook just stands there and makes a forced comment that totally feels like he is just reading from his script.
He looks uncomfortable and out of place. Sometimes the cast has to move around to exaggerate show their reactions, but DW is the only one who stays in place, and when he walks out from behind his little podium, it just feel awkward and like he doesn't know when to walk back to his place. In conclusion, he is just awkward.

I don't know if DongWook and DongYeop knew each other from before or not, but if they did they sure know how to hide it, because there are so many uncomfortable silent moments coming from these pair.

I wonder who decided to go with Dong-Wook? Whoever it was he/she must be kicking him/herself in the behind (Who can blame him/her, I want to help with the butt kicking myself)

This show now is like a watching a game where your team is losing 100-0 and there are still 40 minutes of game time. You just want it to end because you can't bear watching it anymore.

I don't feel like I'm even exaggerating things. The show is just shit now.

I feel like both MCs don't even care about what the guests are saying in the show. It's almost like they are just waiting fot guests to be done with their stories, and then continue with the next thing on the script. Maybe, Kang Ho-Dong and Lee Seung-Gi also didn't care, but they sure knew how to pretend then. You always got the feeling that KD and SG were honestly interested in the guests stories. They had the best reactions, when the story was sad, KHD and LSG both offered comments at the end of the story to make the guest feel better and wrap up the segment in a more relaxed manner. I even remember KD crying to no end, when one female comedian shared the story about her dying dad. You could totally feel his sincerity.

I don't get that feeling at all from Lee Dong-Wook and Shin Dong-Yeop. They don't do their transitions from guest to guest in the right way.

I'm just not feeling it with either one of them in this show. I was completely open to embracing them and have good laughs with them as the new MCs, but they have left me more than disappointed. They are just ruining a show that used to be so good and which had an already settled fan base

I hope that either this show goes through some drastic changes in its format or just gets canceled all together

As I see things I don't think either MC will step down from his place. Maybe they are just in the delusion that they are actually good at it. Maybe no one from the cast or the crew is informing them that they are doing a horrible job and they are unable to see their own poor performances without having someone else point at it. So I if the MCs don't quit and the show keeps on going to route its been going, then we will to continue to watch the slow agonizing death of a once iconic SK show.

And that's all for venting. Off to do homework now -_-

Blacks and Asians couples: Do they exist?!

So.......I used to live in a very small Californian town so pretty much everything I ever saw was white people and some Mexicans (We are in Cali after all).

Here in College though I have friends from all over the world and I actually love it

I'm taking a introduction to Sociology class. We are focusing on American identity. One thing led to another and we began to talk about interacial couples here in America.

How they're perceived by others, what groups are more open to it. We all gave our point of view on the matter and some shared their experiences.

BUT I did notice that one of the couples that didn't even get touched on was

Blasian couples

Like I said before I come from a small town with very few minorities in it so it is no surprise I never saw such a couple.

Here in college though one of my very good friends is African American and my bestfriend/roomate is an exchange student from Taiwan.

So I naturally ask them both (separately) if they knew of any Black/Asian couple. My friend 'S' from Taiwan told me she had never seen one but maybe it was because she had only been in the U.S. for two yrs. But my African American friend 'M' said she knew of one Filipino/Black couple from when she used to live in Florida.

But yup, so far I haven't really seen a Blasian couple myself.

I became more intrigued by this lack of connection between these two groups and so I went to the place we all go to get out questions answered..Google

I found a shitload of stuff on the matter. Some were old and some were fairly recent. Some were actual articles, but the most juicy stuff I found was in forums where actual people who belong to either one of those groups shared their ideas.

I knew that if it is hard to find a Blasian couple in LA then to find one in the rest of the country would be almost impossible.

The real articles I found were pretty standard. They focused on the history if immigration from both groups, blah blah blah. How in modern times both groups tend to stick to their own ethnic groups blah blah blah.

The most interesting graph I found was one of the most to least likely interracial couple you can find in the good old USA. The two most likely couples were Asian women/White men Latina women/White men Black men/White women. And then the least likely couple to encounter is
Black women/Asian men. No wonder I haven't seen one Blasian couple as of today

Now the forums is where all the confrontation anger and frustration could be felt.

Some forums I encountered were on predominately African America/Black sites as well as forums or blogs of Asian American/Asians perspective.

Let's just say the word 'chink' and 'nigger' were being thrown around as if they were nothing.

The Asians argument:
They don't have anything in common with Blacks
Blacks tend to be criminals, sell drugs, go to jail(**sigh)
Black don't go to school
Blacks  are violent + rude + loud (**double sigh)
Blacks and Asian have history of not getting along (LA riots I guess)
Families would never accept a Black person
Asians don't like dark skin because it's not pretty
Black men have too much equipment down there and Asian women are too small for it to fit (LMFAO)
~~list goes on with more really racist and rude arguments

The Black argument:
Asians are racist
Asians are cheap and want to steal from the Black men (I'm quoting here)
Asians are nerds and stuck up
Asians love to kiss white people's ass so they try to put black people down for it
Asians have flat asses (No junk in their trunk :D)
Asians can not speak the Engrish
They can't dance (Oh hell no!)
~~Who would want to be with an Asian? that pretty much encompasses the rest of their arguments

So people were pretty much being dickheads from both sides of the fence.

Now I also found a lot of blogs in which most of the time the author was a Black girl saying with no shame they wanted an Asian man by their side. Some went even as far as to say that they didn't like Black men because they were (Insert Asian argument here).

This group of Black women who were making such revelations were 99% of the time fans of J-Pop, K-pop, Manga, Anime and so on (You can figure this out very easily by looking at their profiles)

Asians blogger that I found more open to the idea only went as far as to write 'Race shouldn't matter when dating' but none of the Asians bloggers I encountered went as far as to say 'Ugh I would totally date a Black person right now. They are so hot' Asian bloggers pretty much write they might be open to the idea if (And that seems to be a really big IF) they find the right person who happens to be Black but none of them seem willing to go out of their way to date Blacks (And I'm being nice by putting it this way)

On the other hand lots of Black people (specially women) really do seem to want to date Asians but they don't know how or are afraid of rejection.

I even found a blog written by a Korean man who writes about the Korean mind-set on things. He wrote in one of his blogs how he gets so many emails from girls asking on tips on how to date Korean men. And that most of the people who would disclose what ethnicity they belonged to were Black girls :O

So it does seem like they (Blacks, girls specially) do want to date Asians but they feel Asians don't want them :(

I don't think relations between Asian and Blacks are that rigid (at least from what I can see on campus) but they are just kind of segregated into their own little groups. I do see some Asians and Blacks being friends so I think it is only a matter of time before this couple becomes a least a little more popular. Blasian I mean...

But if you are black girl at least try to not seem and sound so desperate when you are making your love for Asian men so obvious online. Men won't take women seriously when women appear to be too easy and available. Let's keep it classy, ladies.

Working @ Express SUCKS: My experience

I'm awake finishing some school homework when I suddenly felt the need for some good old
online shopping

One thing led to another and I ended up browsing through the EXPRESS online store.

Suddenly horrible memories of the two worst weeks of my life (Exaggeration at its best but I tend to be dramatic) came back flooding my mind

First of all. working in retail tends to suck everywhere. There are always rude customers, the pay is horrible, the expectations are usually too high for what you get and the hours you get tend to suck at best. All in all, not the best field to work at.

But Express takes the cake in my book.

I worked at Express for less than three weeks but I still remember a lot of things that made me
want to run out of that place after one hour of work.

Everything began with me being broke. And as you know broke college students do not look pretty. I had been working at a shoe store until recently but it freaking closed down with the owner telling us about this one week before it actually happened

So there I was broke, sad and hungry. I of course began to apply everywhere and as things turned out I got one of my first calls from Express.

The woman who called me sounded extremely nice so I was actually excited about the possibility of working there.

I went to my first interview. The person interviewing us was actually the assistant manager and not the manager herself.

One word to describe her would be: Bitch

I seriously could smell the bitchiness emerging from her pores as she made her way to us from the backroom.

During the entire interview she kept reminding us how she was soooo harsh when it came to hiring new people and how she never kept people who wouldn't immediately giver results and how we needed to be available every single day that we were putting down on our applications (Even though she wouldn't give people more than 8 hours per week HA)

I of course kissed her ass and tried to be as outgoing as possible to get the job. Let's just say I was desperate at the time.

Me and one other guy from that group interview ended up getting hired.

So, there I was on my first day of work. Besides the usual nervousness I was feeling okay about the whole thing. I finally met the manager who turned out to be a total sweetheart.

But of course since I'm sooo lucky it turns out the manager wasn't fat as I had thought but 81/2 months pregnant. So she was taking her maternity leave for two months. And yup. The bitch was going to be in charge from then on.

Let's pretend the assistant manager (The b...) was named 'Rosy'.

Well Rosy acted like a totally neurotic, too-good-for-everyone over-confident beyotch the entire time she trained me.

She gave me tips on:
-How to push merchandize to customers until they wouldn't be able to say no.
-How to get customers to get credit cards they didn't actually need.
-How to kiss more ass.
-And on how to act like stalker and follow customers around the store asking them their names.

Yup. Overall the place was shit.

I suddenly remembered why I had never like shopping at Express.

One reason was because of the clothing. It's so dull. It's mostly for women over 35 who want to pretend they still got it. And the prices are just stupid for such mediocre clothing

Another reason was because of the workers (stalkers) working there.

Back then, I used to blame them and curse quietly at them because they just wouldn't let me breathe.

Sometimes one just wants to browse around. Look at prices. Walk around the store and just enjoy our time there.

But at Express, you can not do that!

You just can't.

If you work there you get am earpiece with a small microphone attached to it. Every worker around the gates Has To run to a customer and ask them for their name (WTH!), tell them we have oh so many good looking things in the store (LIE) and demand an answer as to where the fuck they are going so we can get them to spend some fucking dough in our establishment.

'Hi what's your name?' I had to ask this more than 100 times in less than 3 hours working there on my first day.

People gave me the stink eye (I probably would have done that to myself too) and walked away although some good Samaritans did stop to tell me their names (There's still nice people our there **tear)

After asking all these very important questions I would have to tell every other worker all the information I had gathered from our new victim. It went something like this

'This is _______. A lady named Cynthia just walked into our store. She says she is looking for a pair of pants to go have a hot date with a married man'

Yup

Ok. I never had someone tell me that many details but you get what I'm saying.

Imagine having to have to grab my little microphone and having to tell all the other workers what some innocent stranger wanted, who they were, what they were doing, etc. I felt like a pervert. Stalking my prey as soon as I saw them

And I had to hear these type of conversations about 5000 times from all the other workers as well. Because of course we all had to stalk people.

And so Rosy (remember the witch?) would always come to me and say things like:

Her: "You're okay so far but I just wish I could inject you with Red Bull to make you more hyper"
Me: Smile/nod ---- Actual thoughts: Okay psycho

Or another one of my favorites

Her: "You can't let anyone get away. You must make the sale. That is the one priority you must have"
Me: Sure, I'll try harder ---- Actual thoughts: ***Sigh / I really want to hit your face right now

So I had to work like that for two miserable weeks. Everytime I walked back to my car after work I would think to myself. What the hell is wrong with that place?

Seriously though, who made that kind of selling strategy?

From what I've gathered online and from my own experiences at other Express stores they are all on stalking-mode.

A lot of people (potential buyers) would just walk out of the store as fast as their feet could take them after being approached by three different workers wanting to know their name.

Poor them. Customers just wanted to have a nice day shopping around without being bugged but
No no no. We can't let any enjoyment happen there.

Just when I was going to pass out from rolling my eyes so much at all the other dummies working at that place some kind of powerful being took pity on me and helped me find another job less than a week later.

And so I got out of the damned place never to look back at it again.

To date I have worked in fours retail stores, a bookstore, as a babysitter, waitress but Express has given me the biggest heartache and headache in my entire working life (So far)

I hope the bitch Rosy gets the stick up her ass out so she can actually see what customers want and how to approach them in a less pushy way.

Nah. I just hope she fell on her butt at least once.

Bye Express. See you never

2NE1 'Best face' ranking

2NE1 is in the house

Sooo, here is another ranking

This time we're rating 2NE1 good looks

Yes, I know they are not known as the most beautiful girls in Korea. But I can still make a list about who I think is the 'better looking' face from them four.

Plus, after ranking Super junior, I needed a rest from big groups

Okay......let's get right into it

In 4th place we've got
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.

CL (I don't care eh eh eh eh ehh)

Why? Her eyes are not her best feature. I blame them for her not so-beautiful face. Everything else in her face is just fine. Not gorgeous but they are okay.
Her eyes though make her look really really cross-eyed. I'm not sure if she's actually a little cross-eyed, or if that's just an optical illusion because of her eyes shape, or because she kind of poses like that. The thing is she does look cross-eyed (At least to me she does).

That's why I think she looks best with sunglasses on. Her face is actually small and her lips look quite cute. CL is the fiercest in 2NE1 and she sure makes a badass leader, it's just that her face doesn't look the best.

3rd place goes to..
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.

Minzy (Hate you)

Why? Well, Minzy is a very strange creature in my book. She is the maknae of the group but when 2NE1 made their debut I seriously thought she was the oldest O_O
That's saying a lot. She can look young at times (Like the picture above) but she looks older than her age most of the time. She is the best dancer in the group but she tends to look a little fat. I think she is naturally thick because from what I've seen she works out more than any of the other members but her build still looks the same.

When she uses her "bad girl" face she looks kind of black too. I wouldn't be surprised if someone told me tomorrow that her great great grandfather was black. Of course, she looks more Korean but there seems to be a hint of blackness in her.

IDK maybe I'm just imagining things because she has a big butt
and can dance >_<

2nd place goes to
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.

Park Bom ( It hurts :\ Appa Appa Appaaa)

Why? Park Bom looks plastic. She looks scary plastic.
If I was teaching future plastic surgeons on things to not do, I'd show them a picture of Park Bom. I don't know what the hell she has done (or not done) to her face. but she looks way way worse every time 2NE1 makes a comeback. Her face is completely frozen!!!!

She can barely even move her lips anymore. Her eyes look so swollen as if she could barely keep them open anymore and her nose keeps on shrinking. I don't care what any 2NE1 fan says, this girl has had something done to her. The illness that she claims to have wouldn't make her nose magically get smaller and smaller.

**Sigh......   But why is she is 2nd place then, you ask.

Well, Park Bom was one of the cutest members when they first debuted. Even though her face was on the round side, she still look pretty. Her long brown hair made her look like a doll. And her long legs were and still are her best feature. She could have been in the last place on this list but because
she was so pretty once I put her on 2nd place instead. It is my own personal opinion so stuff it if you don't like it.

1st place goes to..
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.

Sandara Park (I'm the Best)

Why? She is undeniable cute. Everyone always says she doesn't seem to age. And I have to agree on that claim. If anything, she looks even younger than when she worked in the Philippines.

I think that last part is probably because of makeup techniques. Filipinos make up techniques suck ass. Most of their celebrities look like extras from low-budget productions. So once in Korea, Dara was able to have real make-up artists make her look even more beautiful and younger than she already was. She lacks in so many aspects compared to the other three, but she is by far the cutest and most natural-looking member from 2NE1. She is the only one snatching make-up campaigns for YG.

So YG should definitely be thankful to this girl for not feeding the idea that YG doesn't pick their artists because of looks. Dara is living proof that one can be an exception to that rule.

'To the Beautiful You' first impression

I hated it -_-

I seriously couldn't stand any of the actors

There's no character that is genuinely funny and natural

I was actually afraid this was going to happen as soon as they announced this drama was going to be plagued by idols in the most part.

I feel they should have had some real actors thrown in the mix so that the entire production doesn't look so amateurish and awkward

Ok, first let me give you a background of what this drama is all about. This drama is the adaptation of the Japanese manga Hana Kimi. There has already been three versions made of this same drama. 1 made in Taiwan, and two made in Japan. The story goes as follows:

The main girl is a huge fan of a high school high jumper. This high school boy suffers from some sort of accident which makes him stop competing in this sport and it makes him all sad :(
The girl being a huge fan of him and all, decides to take matters into her own hands and try to persuade him to go back to the field and jump
What better way to do this but to go to the same school as him, right??
But oh oh oh, he goes to an all-boy school. What to do, what to do?
I know, she can disguise herself as a boy.
So she follows my advice and does just that. She registers to the school and once in she tries to get close to her idol. In the meantime all sort of silly side stories go on inside the school.
Oh, and one other important factor is that this school is home of hotties-only students who all live together inside three dorms.

So there you go a simplified version on what this drama is all about.

Now, just to let you know, the only version I've watched from beginning to end is the Japanese 2007 version. I didn't bother with the second one because it was just a repeat of the first one except it had different actors in it.

The Taiwanese version was just way too high-pitched for my liking. Everything was over the top and the bad acting made me cringe way too often. I actually did watch (or more like attempted to watch) the Taiwanese version first but I just couldn't finish it.

The Japanese version was a love-on-second-sight type of drama. I watched the first episode, and although it was much better than the Taiwanese version, I didn't watch any more episodes until I gave it one more try some months later. I actually loved Hana Kimi and I laughed on every episode.

Ok, now let's go back to the Korean version of Hana Kimi (To the beautiful you).

Let's start with the main characters

Seul Ong (The girl who pretends to be a boy) is portrayed by Sulli from Fx
Wow, I really thought that Sully would be the prettiest of all of the main characters of Hana Kimi but apparently not. Oh well, at least she doesn't look as bad as Ella.

Sulli's acting so far is just average. The thing I can't stand about her so far is that she wears pink lipstick on her lips (WTF!) and she tries too hard to still look cute. I know I know she is a girl but she shouldn't overdo it if she wants to be taken seriously in the acting world and not just as an idol actress whose main concern while acting is to look pretty

I didn't find the rolling down the stairs on the suitcase that funny (Some are claiming they couldn't stop laughing but I'm assuming they are new to dramas or just really really young). I think that it was totally expected, as well as the underwear incident.

I do have some hope for her acting to improve. I hope the scriptwriters make her dialogues funnier and more natural. So far everything she's said seems like she is acting.

Now moving on to the next major character

Kang Tae Joon (the high-jump guy) is portrayed by Min Ho from Shinee
His portrayal of Kand Tae Joon so far has been more than disappointing. He is supposed to be cool, calm, slightly emo, and kind of rude to everyone. But Min Ho doesn't really portray all these emotions that well

Min Ho is the biggest fear that comes from idols acting. Kind of when Kim Hyun Joong did his acting debut through Boy over flowers, Min Ho has also proven that if an idol doesn't properly study acting, they will not measure up to having such big roles. I don't think Min Ho is doing justice to his character. The magic is in doing small gestures that show what his character is supposed to be like. His character is not the talkative type but he still should be able to show viewers what Kand Tae Joon is like. This will add more to his change of character as the episodes progress

But I think Min Ho has not had experience and maybe,  Just  maybe he just needs to get used to acting.
It is his first main role and there is still time to see if he will be able to pull through and become an actor who can deliver. I hope he does achieve that because he sure has the eye-candy characteristics to make him into a superstar in the acting world.

Maybe I'm speaking too harshly because Hana Kimi (Japan) is one of my top favorite dramas of all time
and I was devastated when I saw how cliché the Korean version of Boy over flowers was.
I hope it gets better because it's always good to have more options when looking for dramas.
I don't want to sit through 16 episodes when I don't like a drama though so I'm not sure if I'm even going to attempt to continue watching this drama :(

SM is for pretty people only?!!

SM is known in the Korean entertainment industry as the agency of 'pretty people'

According to most citizens in Korea SM contains some of the most beautiful idols and singers from all of the three major agencies......

Even people like IU who has become the favorite little sister in Korea confessed to not daring to try out for the SM auditions because she wasn't pretty enough (WTF!!)

Just look at her she is extremely pretty

She doesn't even lose when compared to the "most beautiful face" from SM

I feel she wasn't confident enough to try out at the time since she was so young back then. And if SM had turned her down then they sure are idiots given that IU has pretty much everything to offer

Anyways let's go back to the topic at hand.....

SM's 'only beautiful'  members

But I come to bring the truth to everyone that this idea of SME only being for pretty people to be untrue when looking at the evidence I have today.

Let's look at some of the members from SM that fall short on the looks department but have still been able to debut successfully.

First we've got Shinee's Jonghyun

(This is NOT his worst photo OK)
To be honest Jonghyun is my favorite Shinee member BUT I am not a delusional crazy fan so I can be honest for one minute here. He is not the best looking from the group. AT ALL
He is my favorite for many other reasons but it was not love at first sight. When first looking at a new group I'm sure most girls just go for the best looking one right away. Then we might change our mind on who our favorite member is based on voice, variety skills, dance skills, cute acts, etc, etc, ETC

Jonghyun might be hot at times but he looks old and his face is far from perfect (I still love him though, old-looking and all) I get why SM needed him in the group though. He might not be the best looking one BUT he does have an awesome voice (for an idol that is) and they are a singing group after all soooooooo his voice compensates for the rest
plus he's funny.

OK, he is a good start on proving one of SM's myths wrong.

Then we have SNSD's Yuri
(NOT her worst photo EITHER
Yuri is the male fantasy of many guys (That's what I've heard at least) and I do have to admit I  can see why. She is tall and has a woman's body with some curves and all. And her legs look meaty compared to all the other members who seem to have chopsticks hanging from their shorts.

But she is not pretty in the face department. All her sex appeal comes directly from her Body.
But she compensates for her lack of face appeal with her height and this makes her stand out in the group.
She has other appeals I'm sure (like being funny perhaps) but since I don't really watch that many shows with her on I can't really say anything about that.

Ok OK, moving on.....

Let's get to Fx Amber

I think it is obvious why Amber is on this list. She does not look like a pretty girl.
Even if she was a guy she would be considered a hot guy or an attractive guy but not a pretty guy. She seems nice enough though don't get me wrong and I know it is SM who is pushing her to the
tomboy look even more than what she was used to. I think SM's main reason to make her debut with Fx is that they needed more Chinese members out there to help promote their fairness with the Chinese public (See Super Junior's Hangeng scandal) since they were thinking on promoting there anyways.

I do want to see her with long hair and a more feminine look just to see how she would look like that. I'm not sure if we will ever get to see that though.....

Now let's move on to another
SNSD's member, Hyoyeon

She is my favorite member from this over-rated group because she seems the most down to earth and genuinely funny from them all. She seems to be sincere in her actions and isn't hanged up on keeping up an image all the time. Plus she is the only one who can decently dance in the group.

But then again we are here to discuss looks and not anything else. And sadly she loses in this aspect compared to the other girls. She is by far the least attractive from SNSD. She is short and has a very unusual face. It is obvious that she has had surgery, and her smile makes her have a scrunched face.

It is not secret that she gets the least amount of CF's or advertorials compared to the other girls and I think we all know why this is.  Still I'm glad that she was able to debut in SNSD because she does add a sense of keeping-it-real~ness to the group (My black girl voice was used here)

Let's continue with Super Junior's
Leetuk and Ryeowook

They are definitely on my botton 3 from Super Junior when it comes to looks. I've already explained the details in another post about SJ's best face ranking So I'm, just going to leave it at that.

Like I said before, based on look these two lose, but Leetuk is quite hilarious and is climbing up really quickly on all sorts of variety shows. He probably will be the next great MC in Korea.
As to Ryeowook.........................
well, are you guys sure he isn't Lee Soo-Man's son?  XD
I'm not kidding you guys

And let's end this with Fx's Luna

(Whenever she smiles I feel her face is going to melt)

Ok, for this part I must gather all my meanness and just let it all out.
Luna is one of the least pretty members in all of SM. There I said it.
She has very few physical characteristics that would land her in a girl group. She is quite short (which wouldn't really be a problem But...) she has a very bulky build and this makes her look very rough. Her extremities (arms and legs) are not quite proportional to her petite frame. She looks to me like a walking radish. I also don't understand why her stylists giver her that awful orange-blond hair. She is dark enough to almost blend with that tone of blond. Please stylists, just stop!

But God is not so unfair as to not give her anything in return. She has the best voice in the group and obviously she was picked for her real talent as opposed to her looks
Next time you see an idol that doesn't quite look like an idol, you can bet they have something that makes up for it.

Boa looks OLD!

Boa looks old

She just does. I was actually really surprised when I found out that she is just 25 this year.

The first time I started to pay her some attention was about 2 yrs ago when she was promoting 'I'll eat you up' (Rawr~ You dirty dirty girl! / I wonder if she knew what she was insinuating with that song) and back then I thought she was at least 28. And that was more than 2 years ago!!

Since she is been hosting Kpop Star with JYP and YG I assumed that she was around the same age as them (kekekeke) Ok, I'm going too far but I definitely didn't think that there was that much age difference between them and her.

She at least looks to be the same age as Hyori-shi (We must respect our elders!) but she is much much younger so that puzzles me even more as to why she looks so old.

I think there are some things that make Boa look old

The first one is that orange hair

Please Boa, tell your hairstylists to not screw you up and send you with a color that makes almost every woman on earth look washed out.

The only way she might be able to pull it off is if she was as pale as a vampire and of course had the right features, and had a little bit of luck.

But she doesn't look too hot with Black hair either. It makes her skin look opaque and her whole persona seems pretty ordinary

She should stick to dark brown for her hair and not try to change her hair like the rest of the younger-looking idols

The second thing is her Smile

I know a girl is always told that we look more beautiful when we smile
But just let me tell you that is absolutely false. Some people do have beautiful smiles and some just don't.
Of course a smile might make you more approachable and friendly BUT we are talking looks here.
Unfortunately for Boa she hasn't been blessed with a beautiful smile and therefore should
try to hide it more often. Boa, dear you must try please.
The world is not as fun as you think it is, so no need to smile all the time ok?
OK  moving on

Now for the  third and final aspect that makes her look old we have
 Plastic Surgery?

At the moment of me writing this post I don't know if Boa has actually gotten plastic surgery or not. But the thing is that in my eyes she definitely looks like she has.
Where? My expert eagle eye tells me she's gotten surgery to her nose. Her actually nose doesn't give up the fact that she has had surgery but what does make me suspicious is her smile. I've noticed that when people have gotten a nose job many times their smiles suffer from it.
They begin to look awkward and forced.

But to give her the benefit of the doubt she might have been born with a stiff smile face (Nothing wrong with that) or maybe she in fact has had more surgery done than we might know.
I'm not even going to Google if she has had had surgery or not because more likely even if she has,
she'd never just come out and say it. I probably would only find posts of people saying that she has (AKA haters? that's what Boa's fans would call them) and people who would completely deny that she has (AKA delusional fans? that's what everyone else would call Boa's fans)
sooooooo me don't want to waste me time.

But in the end we can only conclude that she does look old.
Plastic or not Plastic surgery included
